Homemade Flour Tortillas

Ingredients

  • 3.25 dl all-purpose flour
  • 1.25 dl water
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl.

Heat the water in a saucepan and add the butter.

Once the butter has melted, mix this with the dry ingredients and knead until you have a smooth dough. Let it rest for about 15 minutes.

Roll the dough into a log shape and divide into 6 equal pieces.

Use plenty of flour and roll out the dough as thin as you can.

Cook on relatively high heat in a dry non-stick pan. Flip when you see bubbles starting to form. Don't leave it too long – the tortilla will become dry and difficult to work with later!

Keep them wrapped in a clean kitchen towel until serving.

Notes

Don't cook the tortillas for too long, or they'll become dry. Store in a kitchen towel until serving.
