Anyone who knows me knows that when I make pizza, I whip up 10 pizza bases in a row and freeze them. That way, the journey from thought to action is short if pizza is what you’re craving. For a guide on how to achieve super crispy, delicious pizza bases, follow this link.
Ingredients
- 2 pizza bases
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- A small handful of chopped basil
- 3 finely chopped garlic cloves
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- Blue cheese, e.g. Selbu blue
- 125 g Mozzarella
- Parmesan
- Onion
- Arugula for serving
Instructions
To make the sauce, start by heating olive oil in a saucepan. Lightly sauté the garlic and basil for a couple of minutes. Add crushed tomatoes, salt and pepper. Simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes.
Run the oven at maximum temperature, preferably with convection. If you have a pizza stone, use it.
Spread tomato sauce thinly on the pizza bases. Distribute paper-thin slices of onion over the sauce. Distribute mozzarella and a little blue cheese evenly over the tomato sauce and finish with grated parmesan.
Bake for about 7 minutes until the cheese is golden. Serve with arugula and a little freshly ground pepper on the pizza.
